This Privacy Notice sets forth how Your information is collected, used, transferred, and stored through the Site that was created at the University of Illinois. It is also subject to Illinois’s web privacy notice here (https://www.vpaa.uillinois.edu/resources/web_privacy/) which among others contains sections: Rules for Individuals under Thirteen Years of Age, Disclaimer of Warranties and Accuracy of Data, Legal Notices of Terms and Conditions and the Supplemental Notice. The Supplemental Notice applies generally to the provision of personal information by individuals in the European Economic Area. The Supplemental Notice explains how the University meets its obligations under the European Union General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), and Your rights under GDPR. 1. What information may the Site collect from You?
1. Personal Information. "Personal Information" for purposes of this Privacy Notice means information that can be used to identify, contact, or locate an individual, such as, Your name and email address. By using the Site, You are consenting to the collection and use of Your Personal Information by the University.
2. Automatically Collected Non-Personal Information. University may collect certain non-personal information in accordance with Illinois’s web privacy notice.
2. How is Your information used?

   Your Personal Information will be publicly displayed in connection with your contribution. Personal Information may also be used to contact You to seek feedback, input, and any clarifications regarding your contributions to the Site.

3. Is Your personal information shared?

   The University may share Your Personal Information that You have provided to it as authorized by law, order of governmental authority, or court order, and when the University believes in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect its rights, or to protect Your safety or the safety of others. The University may also share Your Personal Information if permitted under University policy, or authorized by an approved University contract.

4. How is Your personal information protected?

   The University follows generally accepted industry standards to protect the Personal Information You submit to it. No method of transmission, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, the University cannot guarantee its absolute security. This information should not be construed in any way as giving business, legal, or other advice, or warranting as fail-proof, the security of information provided by You via University supported web sites.

5. How long is Your personal information stored?

   We will retain Your Personal Information provided to the University in a University database for an indefinite period of time.

6. Opt-out process.

   If You would like us to delete the Personal Information that You have provided via Site, please send an email to otm@illinois.edu and/or the email address as provided on the Site and we will respond in a reasonable time. For GDPR concerns or opt-out requests, please view the Supplemental Notice. Please note that some or all of Your Personal Information may be required to be retained with your contributions.

Thank you for your interest in contributing to the RadicalSAM Project of the University of Illinois. In order to contribute, you will need to provide your name and contact information. This Contributor License Agreement which sets the terms and conditions of the intellectual property license granted with your contributions.

This RadicalSAM Project Contributor License Agreement ("Agreement") is by and between you, any person or entity ("You" or "Your") and the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, a body corporate and politic of the State of Illinois ("Illinois"). Please read this document carefully before accepting the terms. By accepting the terms of this Agreement You agree to the following:

1. "RadicalSAM Project" is a project of Illinois that aims to enable open access and sharing of computation- and data-intensive analyses of sequence-function space in the radical SAM superfamily (RSS) using genome context for bacterial, archaeal, and fungal members of the RSS.
2. "Contribution" means all of Your contributions of annotations and any modifications thereof, to RadicalSAM Project at Illinois.
3. Representation. You represent the following to the best of your knowledge:
   1. You are at least 18 years of age and have full power and authority to enter into this Agreement and to grant the rights in and to the Contribution as set forth herein (individuals who are under 18 years of age and who wish to contribute to the Illinois may not enter into this Agreement, but may contact Illinois at xxxx@illinois.edu to explore alternatives);
   2. If your employer has rights to intellectual property that You create as part of the Contribution, You represent that You have obtained permission from Your employer to make the Contribution on behalf of that employer, or Your employer waived any rights in and to Your Contribution, or Your employer authorizes the Contribution and agrees to be bound by the terms herein by signing as an entity below;
   3. That either:
      1. the Contribution is Your original work and includes complete details of any third-party input and any restriction of which You are personally aware and which are associated with any part of Your Contributions; or
      2. any part of the Contribution that is not Your original creation is submitted to Illinois separately from any original Contribution, includes the complete details of its source and any corresponding license and any other restriction (including, but not limited to related patents, trademarks, and license agreements) of which You are personally aware, and is conspicuously marked as "Submitted on behalf of a third party: [named here]".
   4. That Your Contribution does not include any viruses, worms, Trojan horses, malicious code or other harmful or destructive content; and
   5. Your Contribution does not include any encryption technology and no government license or permission is required for the export, import, transfer or use of the Contribution.
4. Notification. Your representations are accurate, and You agree to notify Illinois of any facts or circumstances of which You become aware that would make any of Your representations inaccurate in any respect.
5. License grant to Contributions. You grant to Illinois and to recipients of the Illinois software and data (collectively, "Recipients"), a perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free unrestricted license to use, for any purpose, reproduce, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, distribute, and sublicense the Contribution, and such derivative works. You are retain the ownership of your Contributions, subject to his Agreement.
6. No support. Except for the rights granted to Recipients above, You reserve all right, title, and interest in and to Your Contribution. You are not expected to provide support for your Contributions.
7. No Warranties. Subject to Your representations above, Your Contributions are provided on an "AS-IS" basis WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND (express or implied), including, without limitation, any implied warranty of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, and any warranty of non-infringement.
8. No Liability. Illinois, its trustees, directors, officers, employees, students, and agents have no liability for any infringement of any copyright, patent, or other right of third parties in connection with any Contributions, the RadicalSAM Project, or RadicalSAM software, and are not liable for any direct, indirect, punitive, special, incidental, consequential, or exemplary damages arising in connection with any Contribution, the RadicalSAM Project, or RadicalSAM software.
9. Indemnity. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold Illinois and its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents, employees, partners, licensees, and licensors harmless from any claim or demand, including but not limited to reasonable attorneys’ fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of Contributions You submit, post, transmit or otherwise make available to Illinois, as well as Your use of the RadicalSAM software; connection to the RadicalSAM Project; or violation of any rights of another.
10. You agree that Illinois may assign this Agreement and RadicalSAM Project to any third party without notice or consent.
11. Illinois is under no obligation to accept or include Your Contribution in the RadicalSAM Project.
12. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, excluding its conflict of laws provisions.
